The thirty-two-year-old, affectionately referred to as Shari within her familial and social circles, initiated divorce proceedings, liberated herself from pharmaceutical dependency, and embarked upon a fresh career endeavor. She exuded pride in her transformative journey, aspiring to forge a luminous path forward for both herself and her sixteen-year-old son, Joshua Dunn.

On November 18, 1999, Shari spent the day with her mother, Patty Nause, at their residence in Newtonsville, Ohio. Patty retained custody of Shari’s son, who had been residing with her since the divorce filing. Departing her mother’s abode that evening to rendezvous with acquaintances, Shari harbored no intention of an extended absence. Yet, she failed to return, and her kin never beheld her countenance again.

After departing her maternal abode, Shari traversed to Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, approximately forty minutes distant from Newtonsville. There, she convened with companions at the Cross County Inn. However, at some juncture during the evening, she departed alone. Speculation among her associates suggested an encounter with her former spouse, Mike George, though the precise locale remained uncertain. This marked the final sighting of Shari.

Her prolonged absence from Newtonsville promptly aroused familial apprehension. Given Shari and Mike's tumultuous history, her loved ones found it inconceivable that she would voluntarily consort with him, notwithstanding his uncanny influence over her.

Mike, Shari’s second spouse, entered her life subsequent to her marriage to Darryl Dunn at a tender age of sixteen in November 1982. Their union bore a sole progeny, Joshua, in May 1983. However, marital discord precipitated divorce in 1985, following which Shari crossed paths with Mike.

Upon receiving reports of Shari's disappearance, Clermont County detectives endeavored to contact Mike to no avail, thus prompting a broader search. Despite suspicions surrounding Mike's involvement, evidential lacunae precluded definitive conclusions.

Patty resigned herself to Shari's fate, expressing a conviction of her daughter's demise. Such sentiments resonated with those acquainted with Shari, echoing her apprehensions regarding Mike's lethal threats.

Despite exhaustive efforts, authorities were unable to locate Shari or ascertain her fate. Speculation abounded within the community, implicating Mike and his motorcycle cohort in Shari's disappearance, yet substantiation remained elusive.

As the years elapsed, hope waned, with Joshua emerging as a vocal advocate for truth and closure. Recounting his mother's benevolence and resilience, he implored cooperation from those privy to pertinent details.
